A position for a postdoctoral research fellow is available in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tulane University, New Orleans, LA. This position offers a unique opportunity to a highly motivated individual interested in developing devices and technology for point-of-care diagnostics in resource-poor settings, and in pursuing a career in innovation-driven research in academia or industry. A successful candidate will have an MD or a PhD in biomedical / chemical / mechanical engineering, or a closely related field and a demonstrated record of academic productivity. Candidates with a strong background in microfabrication, soft lithography, blood rheology and/or blood cell separation are especially encouraged to apply.
This position is available immediately (to be filled by June 1, 2009) and offers a competitive salary (commensurate with experience).
