Curriculum Vitae

I am originally from Thailand but I have been spending one third of my life in the US studying. I have lived in Tennessee, New Hampshire, Illinois, Michigan, and, now, here in New York. Nonetheless, Bangkok is still my beloved hometown. In the past, I participated in wide range of research in biological science: protein engineering and shrimp genome project, and in biomedical engineering: transport across eye tissue, and cell processing and culturing.

My current research interest is on engineering functional osteochondral tissue from human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) using specialized bioreactor. Osteochondral tissue consists of both bone and cartilage which exists at the articular surface of bones. Engineering functional osteochondral tissue from hMSCs requires stimulation through molecular signals, as well as, through engineering aspect such as scaffolding material and mechanical stimulation where bioreactor plays the role. I personally believe that stem cell will have true clinical application in the future and I feel strongly enthusiastic in being part on the development of the next generation of the regenerative medicine.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports (soccer, basketball, football, badminton, and snowboard), and playing bass. My favorite quote is “Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.
