Curriculum Vitae

Fascinated by the idea that bioengineers can have an impact on saving people’s lives, Yi joined Dr. Sheldon Weinbaum’s group at the City College of New York in 2003. Her research topic centered around the mechanism of Glomerulo-Tubule Balance (GTB) in proximal tubules, an area known as one of the most important unresolved mysteries in renal physiology. She received biological training at Mt. Sinai and conducted her PhD thesis at Yale working with Dr. Tong Wang. Yi will be joining the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Research in July 2009 where she hopes to put to use her mathematical and experimental skills into engineering the cardiovascular system.
