Curriculum Vitae

As an undergraduate student, Rob attended Columbia University where he majored in biomedical engineering.  In the cardiac mechanics laboratory, he worked with Professor Jeffrey Holmes on the development of automated systems capable of detecting changes in cardiomyocyte phenotype in response to various stimuli.  Rob continued on to graduate school in biomedical engineering at Columbia, where he currently works under the direction of Professor Vunjak-Novakovic in her Lab for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering.  His research is related to the in-vitro development of thick, contractile cardiac tissue to serve as a patch for repair of damaged myocardium or as a tissue-engineered model of cardiac function.  In his spare time, Rob enjoys playing golf, bowling, watching his favorite sports teams (let’s go Mets!), taking luxurious vacations, and spending time with friends and family.
