Supansa received the Royal Thai Government scholarship in 2006 and traveled half of the world to continue her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. Before getting the scholarship, she was a research assistant at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering, Thailand. Her work focused on the inhibition effect of siRNA on knock-downing shrimp’s virus. Besides her interest in science, Supansa loves drawing, writing weblog, swimming, watching movies made in 1999, and taking pictures. Because life is more than entertainment, she decided to expand her molecular biology knowledge, learn about something bigger than molecules, and create tissues. While working with Prof. Gordana, she’s developed interest in molecular factors influencing on bone-cartilage interaction and tried to identify causes of poor integration of osteochondral tissue constructs. After earning her Ph.D., she will return to Thailand and conduct research at Chulalongkorn University. "Chulalongkorn Medical School is a primary source of national physicians. I want to build up an understanding about regenerative medicine in order to train medical students, so that they have the ability to translate medical research to practical treatments."
