Dmytro Pokhylko

Adjunct Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering

Dmytro Pokhylko is the Director of Strategic Projects and Lab-to-Market (L2M) Accelerator Network at Columbia Tech Ventures, Columbia’s tech transfer office. L2M is a cross-discipline system providing tactical and strategic guidance to 10+ accelerators to academic teams in life- and physical sciences sectors. To date, L2M programming has benefitted over 500 academic teams, providing $17M+ in non-dilutive funding and leading to over 100 commercial exits.

Dmytro also drives execution of strategic initiatives to strengthen Columbia’s commercialization ecosystem and deepen its relationships with industry partners. He also serves as Director of Innovation Ecosystems for the recently awarded NSF Engineering Research Center for Smart Streetscapes (CS3). CS3 is the only federally endorsed engineering research center in the US and will drive discovery and adoption of cutting edge innovations to transform the nation’s streetscapes with smart technologies that address critical safety, equity, privacy, and security concerns.

Dmytro is also Adjunct Associate Professor with the Department of Biomedical Engineering where he teaches the Lab-to-Market Life Science Accelerator course which provides specialized frameworks for commercialization of academic innovations to faculty-led teams and graduate BME and CBS students with an interest in commercialization.

Dmytro is a graduate of Baruch College, CUNY, where he earned a MSc Degree in Financial Engineering and a BA Degree International Business and Marketing.
