Columbia University’s Frontiers in Engineering and Medicine initiative strives to push the limits of what is possible and bring better care to patients now and into the future as a leading institution in technology development and patient care.
A series of theme-centered ideation workshops aim to establish opportunities for cross-disciplinary engagement by surfacing ideas for what is not only currently achievable but also the adjacent possible and beyond. Each workshop will be moderated by faculty leads who will introduce the challenge and opportunities, sparking ideas from participating attendees and leading to collaborative research efforts.
Our first clinical focus is cancer and is concentrated on the development and utility of biosensors for cancer research, diagnosis, and treatment. Ideas discussed that bring together medical and engineering researchers will be eligible for a new Cancer and Engineering pilot award this Spring.
HOSTED BY the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University and the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH the Irving Institute for Clinical and Translational Research and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University.
