Dr. Aaron Kyle, senior lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering department, recently received a five year, $1.2 million NIH grant to fund Hk Maker Lab, an immersive summer program for local high school students from underserved communities. Over the course of six weeks, students will design, prototype, test, and pitch a biomedical device.
The NIH Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) program supports innovative K-12 STEM programs and fosters partnerships between biomedical researchers and schools.
Hk Maker Lab is a program by Harlem Biospace, a biotech incubator founded by BME Professor Sam Sia.
