Profs. Jacobs and Konofagou Inducted into AIMBE

Two faculty members from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Prof. Elisa Konofagou and Prof. Christopher Jacobs, have recently been inducted to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). AIMBE is the largest professional organization in the field of bioengineering and biomedical engineering in medicine, representing 50,000 individuals and the top 2% of medical and biological engineers. According to AIMBE, its mission statement is: "To be the authoritative voice and advocate for the value of medical and biological engineering to society. It is an organization of leaders in medical and biological engineering, consisting of academic, industrial, professional society councils and elected fellows." The induction ceremony took place March 24, 2014, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC.
