Student Startup Wins Cisco Innovation Challenge

Neopenda, a startup founded by BME MS students Sona Shah and Teresa Cauvel, recently took home a $100,000 prize for the Cisco Innovation Challenge at the Rice Business Plan Competition. Their device, a wearable vital signs monitor for newborns, was developed for use in low-resource settings.
